Blue Poison Arrow Frog
Did you think that all frogs were nice? Not the Blue Poison Arrow Frog! The Blue Poison Arrow Frog is blue with black spots, and they are as small as a man’s thumbnail!!!! They eat termites, crickets, ants and fruit flies. They are at the top of the foods chain-except for some snakes. Scientists are still trying to name those snakes. The snakes are pretty much the only animals that can survive the poison on the frog’s skin. They live in tropical rainforests in Suriname, South America. The female lays 4 – 6 eggs at a time. It takes 12 days for them to hatch into tadpoles. The Blue Poison Arrow Frog is an amphibian because they can live in land or water. This is only one of the many kinds of arrow frogs. There are green, yellow and red Poison Arrow Frogs too. Some even have stripes instead of spots!!!! The Blue Poison Arrow Frog has suction cups on it to help it climb trees. They have sticky skin so that if a snake is coming, the tadpoles stick to the mother and they get away safely. Now that you know the Blue Poison Arrow Frog, I hope you’ll look out for them!

It lives in rain forests in South America. The mother gives birth ever year to one little one. The anteater’s enemies are Jaguars and Pumas. When something happens to them they flick their tongue out at animals or people. And yes they are endangered. 1 fun fact is they eat ants so they are called ant-eater. They sleep 15 hours a day!
